2018-19 recipient of the MacArthur Award for U.S. Army Cadet Command's 1st Brigade
The University of North Georgia Corps of Cadets has been selected as the 2018-19 recipient of the MacArthur Award for U.S. Army Cadet Command's 1st Brigade. The Spartan Brigade encompasses the nation's six senior military colleges. The six military colleges are North Georgia, Norwich University, Texas A&M University, Citadel, Virginia Military Institute and Virginia Tech.

Truck or Treat at the Fairgrounds Canceled
This event has been canceled due to weather concerns. Local families are invited to the county's annual Trunk or Treat Safety Event. The family-friendly event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Cumming Fairgrounds, 235 Castleberry Road.
Advanced Voting in City of Cumming
Advanced voting for the Cumming City Council’s Post 3 will start on October 14th and continue until Friday Nov. 1, 2019. City of Cumming is located in the center of Forsyth County and includes approximately 3,400 registered voters.
Work to begin on Post Road
The Georgia Department of Transportation announced it is working with Forsyth County on upcoming intersection improvements on Post Road (Ga. 371) at Bentley and Pittman roads.
