Our Rescue Tail!
I thought I'd try and rescue you
Your sadness broke my heart,
They said you needed foster care
To get a brand new start!
At first you seemed so scared of me
Unsure of what to do,
You seemed so lost and far away
I wanted to get through!
I tried to make you feel my love
And show you that I cared,
And bit by bit you trusted me
I love the love we shared!
Each day I could not wait to see
Your cute and wagging tail,
Each night I went to sleep and dreamed
That I would foster fail!
My life was changed in every way
The day I took you in,
You're sugar in my coffee mug
And tonic in my gin!
For everything that I now do
You play a special part,
You live inside my humble home
And also in my heart!
That one day as we played around
I found the truth to be,
I really did not rescue you
It's you who rescued me!
So now I am a happy soul
The best I've ever been,
I smile as I think this thought
"My failure is a win!"
