When we do re-open, we will be taking several measures to ensure the safety of our staff and guests, as outlined below:

  • All staff and guests will be screened upon arrival at the CAC, including a temperature check using an infrared (no-touch, temp must be below 100.4) thermometer. If you have had any signs of illness including but not limited to a cough, fever, shortness of breath, if you have been in contact with someone suspected or confirmed as having COVID-19, or if you are confirmed or suspected as having COVID-19, we kindly ask that you do not come to the Cumming Aquatic Center.
  • All staff and guests will be asked to follow social distancing guidelines and maintain a distance of 6 feet from others at all times, in and out of the pool. Please do not congregate in groups.
  • All staff will be wearing face masks. Guests are encouraged to wear face masks when out of the pool.
  • Only 1 swimmer or 1 family of 4 residing in the same residence will be permitted in each Competition Pool lane.
  • The changing area of the locker rooms will be closed, however the restrooms and showers will remain open. Guests are encouraged to shower at home before and after swimming. Sanitizing spray will be available in the showers and all guests are asked to sanitize the shower area they used once finished. There will be designated lockers available for guest use on each pool deck.
  • The upstairs bleacher seating, multi-purpose room off the Competition Pool deck, and Activity Rooms 105 & 106 will be locked. The vending room will remain open but there will not be any tables or chairs inside.
  • A sneeze guard has been installed at the Front Desk. Guests are encouraged to pay with debit/credit cards rather than cash or check.
  • Aquatic Center equipment (kickboards, pull buoys, etc.) will not be available for guest use. Guests may bring their own equipment.
  • CAC staff will be scheduled to clean/sanitize all surfaces hourly or as needed.
  • Proper chemical levels will continue to be maintained in the pools and water tests will be performed twice as often. The CDC reports that there is no evidence that COVID-19 can be transferred through properly maintained swimming pool water.

We are looking forward to getting back to normal, however in the meantime we are committed to making the CAC a safe place for our guests and staff. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions at all, and we look forward to seeing you soon.
