Student Art Wall Challenge

One young, local artist will soon have their work on display at Halcyon according to a press release.

Halcyon, a mixed-use facility in south Forsyth, is hosting the Student Art Wall Challenge. Students are invited to submit an original design for an outdoor mural with the theme “What does Halcyon mean to you?”

The contest is open to all students K-12.  The deadline for the entries is Wednesday, March 11.

The outdoor mural will be 8 feet, 4 inches tall and 29 feet, 11 inches wide.  This mural will be located next to Kilwins

The student with the winning design will receive a prize package from Halcyon and work with Troy King, an Atlanta-based designer, to make the mural a reality.

To enter the contest, please submit the student’s full name, grade level, school, contact info and permission from the student’s parent or guardian. Those who are submitting photo should make sure to use a high-resolution photo in good lighting.  Students can also include a title and short description, this is optional.

Per the press release, “entries will be evaluated based on artistic ability, creativity and how the design represents Halcyon and the Forsyth County community.”
