Forsyth County 911 Center has been realigned under the Forsyth County Emergency Management Agency (EMA)

Forsyth County 911 Center has been realigned under the Forsyth County Emergency Management Agency (EMA). Previously, the 911 Center reported directly to the county manager.

911 Center Interim Director Rebecca Russell will serve as deputy director of the 911 Center with a deputy for EMA to be named  later.  EMA became a stand-alone department within the county's organizational chart in 2018.

Forsyth County Emergency Management Agency is the local lead agency for coordination of emergency and disaster response activities for Forsyth County and the City of Cumming. Its mission is to provide a comprehensive and aggressive mitigation and emergency preparedness, response, and recovery program for the citizens of Forsyth County in order to save lives, protect property, and reduce the effects of disasters.
