Petco Foundation Invests in Lifesaving Work of Humane Society of Forsyth County
Grant of $45,000 will extend efforts to save more animal lives in greater Forsyth County area
CUMMING, GA (July 12, 2019) – The Humane Society of Forsyth County (HSFC) has been awarded a $45,000 grant from the Petco Foundation to support its lifesaving work with animals.
The Petco Foundation investment will help provide funding for daily care, medical treatments, and supplies needed to support proper vetting of animals prior to adoption, including necessary surgical procedures. The grant also provides for puppies and kittens who come into the shelter in need.
“We are grateful for the generous grant provided by the Petco Foundation,” said Vicki Rennick,
President of HSFC. “As an independent, non-profit, this grant allows us to strengthen and increase our rescue work for animals to give them a second chance.”
HSFC is a non-profit organization dedicated to finding loving homes for cats and dogs, educating pet owners, and reducing pet overpopulation. Serving the community of greater Forsyth County for over 40 years, HSFC has adopted more than 26,000 animals into permanent, loving homes.

About the Petco Foundation
At the Petco Foundation, we believe that every animal deserves to live its best life. Since 1999, we’ve invested more than $250 million in lifesaving animal welfare work to make that happen. With our more than 4,000 animal welfare partners, we inspire and empower communities to make a difference by investing in adoption and medical care programs, spay and neuter services, pet cancer research, service and therapy animals, and numerous other lifesaving initiatives. Through our Think Adoption First program, we partner with Petco stores and animal welfare organizations across the country to increase pet adoptions. So far, we’ve helped more than 6 million pets find their new loving families, and we’re just getting started. Visit petcofoundation.org to learn more about how you can get involved.
