In December, the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office began a child exploitation investigation. The investigation concluded in the arrest of Michael Anthony Putnam, from Auburn, Ga.

Putnam had solicited an undercover law enforcement officer posing as a 14-year-old child online for purposes of sexual conduct, police said. Putnam arranged a meeting Wednesday with the child that was to occur at West Bank Park in Cumming, GA. Putnam was arrested and charged with computer pornography and Child Exploitation Prevention Act of 2007, criminal attempt to commit sodomy, criminal attempt to commit aggravated child molestation, obscene internet contact with a child, and VGCSA- possession marijuana.
