Child & Adolescent Services

The Forsyth County Health Department provides the following services to safeguard the health of our children and adolescents:

Health Check: child

  • Well child checkups for children 0-21 years of age
  • Medicaid, fee for service, sliding scale
  • Hearing, vision and dental screenings

WIC: Supplemental foods 
for pregnant Women, infants, and children in need.  Nutrition and breast feeding education and counseling to meet individual needs.

(6 weeks through 18 yrs) Vaccine for Children (VFC) state-supplied vaccines available for the following categories:

  1. Uninsured
  2. Under insured
  3. Alaskan native or American Indian

  • Hep A (Hepatitis A)
  • Hep B (Hepatitis B)
  • IVP (Polio)
  • Hib (Haemophilus Influenzae Type b3)
  • VZV (Varicella/Chickenpox)
  • Influenza (Flu)
  • PCV (Pneumonia/Prevnar)
  • TD (Tetanus)
  • MPSV4 (Meningitis)
  • DTaP/Tdap (Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis or Whooping Cough)
  • MMR (Mumps, Measles, Rubella)
  • MMRV (Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella)
  • DHI (Dtap, Hep B, IPV)
  • Rototec (Rotovirus)
  • Monthly car seat classes (Car seats are available through the class)
  • Appointment times for car seat checks
