The Forsyth County School District asks respondents to choose one of three names: “Cobb Creek” runs through the school property and is named for the Cobb family, which had ties to Native Americans and early Forsyth history; “Drew,” for unincorporated Drew, named after Drew E. Bennett, an early postmaster; or “Hendricks,” for former Forsyth Board of Education member Don Hendricks, who died in 2002.
Respondents also can suggest their own names, which should be “historic or have a significant reference to the geography of the area where the school is located,” or “honor a distinguished deceased person” who made an extraordinary contribution to the schools, had a record of distinction in their respective field, or was a positive role model and had a demonstrated commitment to excellence, the district said.
The survey closes Jan. 30.https://bit.ly/2RTMHnL
