Cumming Square Gets New Restaurant

A burger franchise is set to open in downtown Cumming bringing family friendly and community minded business.

Dunwoody-based Village Burger will open its  restaurant at 101 W Courthouse Square, replacing El Mezcal Mexican Grill across from the old Forsyth County Courthouse.

ForsythCounty.com spoke with Julie Gonzalo,l a spokeswoman for Villag Burger and the restaurant is set to open in mid to late February.  Village Burger serves aaffordable burgers, chicken sandwiches, salads, beer and wine along with frozen custard.  Daily and weekly specials will also be available.  Gonzalo said "We do not have a freezer" so every ingrerdient is fresh.

In 2010 Village Burger opened its first location in Dunwoody under owners Matt Gephardt and Ricardo Gonzalo.  In 2014 Johns Creek was opend and in 2017 Tucker was founded

Village Burger strives to be an active member of the community, Julie Gonzalo said. Each of its restaurants host spirit nights and prefer to hire teenagers who live nearby for its staff.

“We’re just really excited to be there,” Julie Gonzalo said.
