Georgia's Pre-K program is offered free to all four year old children regardless of parental income.  Eligible children are 4 years old on or before September 1st of the school year. Some five year old children may be eligible if they have not been in a Pre-K program before.  Children are in school for 6 1/2 hours a day, five days a week, 160 days a year. Preschool options are also available for parents who want more flexibility in their schedules.  Many local churches and other daycare centers offer preschool classes for younger children and even private half-day kindergarten programs.
