Lake Lanier, located in Forsyth County, Georgia, is one of the most popular and beloved destinations in the region. Covering an area of over 38,000 acres, this man-made lake was created in 1956 by the US Army Corps of Engineers for the purposes of flood control, power generation, and recreation.
