Cumming Building could become a cigar shop

The Sinclair gas station, an historic landmark in downtown Cumming could get a new use.

The Cumming City Council voted 4-0, with council member Lewis Ledbetter absent, at Tuesdays work session to approve a lease for Cumming Cigar, LLC.  The lease would start on July 1 at a cost of $1,325 per month.  The lease would be for one year.  The business would be eligeble to serve beer and wine under the recent changes to the city's alcool ordinance.  The lease term includes measures to honor the historic nature of the building.  The City would get to approve the business signange, while Cumming Cigar must maintain the building aboe the city's standard "normal wear and tear" terms.

The gas station dates back to at least the 1930's.
