Mail Delivery will be Suspended Tomorrow

The U.S. Postal Service said in a statement it will suspend most of its regular services on Wednesday, Dec. 5 to honor former President George H.W. Bush, who died Friday.

President Donald Trump proclaimed Wednesday a national day of mourning for Bush.

“We will provide limited package delivery service on that day to ensure that our network remains fluid and we do not experience any impacts to our package delivery operations that might negatively affect our customers or business partners during the remainder of our busy holiday season,” said the Postal Service.

Most federal employees are excused from work Wednesday.  The City of Cumming and Forsyth County governments will be open and have flags at all public buildings and grounds flying a half-staff until sunset on Dec. 30 “as a mark of respect for the memory of the 41st President of the United States George Herbert Walker Bush,” according to the county’s website.
