End of year rain may take 2007 out of the record books. The Weather Service is predicting up to a half-inch of rain on Friday and up to an inch on Sunday. If that prediction becomes reality, the city will only need another inch of rain before midnight on New Year's Eve to keep 2007 from becoming the driest year on record. If a total of 2.53" of rain does not occur, 2007 will become the driest year on record. While there is little chance of rain today, the weekend looks to be wet. Whether the record is broken or not, any amount of rain is beneficial.
