Tax Free Holiday - August 2 through 5 |

Georgia's Tax Free Holiday is scheduled for August 2nd through 5th. During this weekend, consumers receive a tax break on purchases of clothing, computers, and certain school supplies. Individual clothing items over $100 are not exempt from sales tax, and clothing accessories are still taxed. School supplies are exempt up to $20 per item. There is no limit on the number of school supplies or items of clothing purchased. The Georgia sales tax free holiday is for individual consumer and personal use only.
Computer purchases of up to $1500 are also exempt from sales tax during this weekend event. The $1500 limit includes a single purchase of personal computers and personal computer related accessories. Items not exempt from sales tax are devices, software, or systems designed or intened primarily for recreational use. Additionally, items purchased for a trade or business or leased/rented items are not exempt from sales tax.
