The first of two public hearings regarding the Peachtree Parkway Overlay District will be held January 23, 2007 before the Forsyth County Planning Commission. The Planning Commission meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Commissioner’s Meeting Room on the second floor of the Administration Building, 110 East Main Street, Cumming. The purpose of the Overlay District is to ensure a cohesive design standard for certain areas of the county. The Peachtree Parkway Overlay District begins with the Johns Creek area and ends at Georgia Highway 400. The Planning Department has already implemented the Bethelview Overlay District which incorporates an equestrian estate theme. This area includes the Bethelview/Castleberry intersection.
