Lake Lanier drops to lowest level in 20 years |
|
With rain scarce, lake levels are the lowest they have been since October 24, 1986. Lake Lanier is now more than 15 feet below full pool. Normally, full pool for this time of year is 1,070 feet above sea level. Tuesday’s measurement showed the lake at 1054.99 feet. The Army Corps of Engineers expects Lake Lanier to exceed the all-time low of 17 feet below full within the next two weeks and anticipates it to be nearly 21 feet below full by December 7th.
