Forsyth County Georgia
Forsyth County Georgia is located 30 miles north of Atlanta in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains next to Lake Lanier and the Chattahoochee River. The county is in the northern Atlanta metro area. The real etstate and housing values range all the way up to millions of dollars for luxury homes. Many new homes are around world class golf courses like Laurel Springs or 37,000 acre Lake Lanier extending twenty miles along the county's eastern border.It's population is 158,914and it is the 13th wealthiest county in the United States and the wealthiest in the State of Georgia.
As one of the top ten fastest growing counties in the USA for the last several years the estimated population in 2004 was 131,865. This was an increase of  34.00% from the 2000 census. Median income is almost $70,000.
 
The school system is one of the state's finest with computers playing a major role. New schools wired together and using the latest technolog are the norm. Large universities, art museums, major league sports teams, symphony, and many events are available in Atlanta.
 
There is an expressway south to Atlanta for easy access to the city's cultural resources. The same expressway takes you north to the Georgia mountains where there are many recerational facilities. Either trip takes from 30-45 minutes. Add 30 more minutes south through Atlanta to get to Atlanta's Internetional Airport. The Georgia coast is 5 hours away as is the Florida Gulf coast.
 
It extends over most of the west side of Lake Lanier, a 20 mile long 37,000 acre Army Corp of Engineers Reservoir. Many residents enjoy boating and fishing on Lake Lanier. There are parks, local sports teams and a diverse spectrum of other activities in the county. A variety of shopping is available inside the county. Everything in Forsyth County is what you expect from a world class luxury community.
