Forsyth looks to taxpayers for new jail |

The November election will give the Forsyth County Commission another chance to ask local voters to support a tax increase. In February, voters approved a five-year extension of the county's special purpose local option sales tax (SPLOST) and a $100 million park and recreation bond that's backed by a property tax increase. This time the commission wants money to build a new jail and, possibly, a new sheriff's headquarters.
